Update on the boy

So, I have been in contact with my mysterious match.com boy (read about it here).

We've emailed back and forth once and then I gave him my phone number. And we have set up a date for Tuesday night. He suggested Mexican - yay! a boy after my own heart (though I only eat like chicken tacos and nachos) - I'm going to have to pass on the onions though (damn it, love them).

Do ya'll know how long it's been since I've been out on a date? Years. I'm not even sure how to date. I was thinking about it last night, and freaking out a little, but then just decided 'what the hell'. He'll either like me or he won't.

I'll keep you all updated as it goes along.

I'm excited, and then I'm nervous, and then I'm excited.

And my dumb mother, I tell her that I'm super-excited that this guy took the time to track me down, and she says "Well I'm sure you're regretting gaining all that weight back and not having a chance to lose it yet, aren't you?"

I hung up on her.

So, now I'm all self-conscious about my weight. I'm a few pounds heavier than I was a year ago. And I know it shows, but damn it - I was happy and now I'm self-conscious. Way to flippin' go, Mom!

I've seen pictures and you looked fabu!! Don't worry and get all self-conscious! You're going to have so much fun and dud, he tracked you down! That's just... well it doesn't happen often, or at least I never hear about that stuff occurring.

I haven't figured out my mother. She can be one of my best friends at times and then others I want to put my hands around her neck and shake her. Seriously, it's been like this ever since I was old enough to understand. We have a love/hate/love/hate kinda relationship.

I'm nervous but I know I'm going to have a good time.
