Grrr and More Grrr

I know at least some of my flist fully engrosses themselves in the Supernatural fandom, so this is important to those.
Apparently the two girls that run Support Supernatural are doing a "charity donation" on behalf of Jensen Ackles. The charity that they decided to pledge their donations to is Young Life. That would be fine and dandy if they could actually prove that Jensen supports Young Life. And two, if Young Life didn't have an openly anti-gay stance.
I absolutely do not support this decision by SupportSupernatural.
If they truly wanted to do a donation on Jensen's behalf then they would contact his management and get an officially recognized charity.
But they did not.
Since the girls aren't willing to contact Jensen's management in regards to an official charity then I believe Jensen's management should be contacted in regards to this. Unless Jensen fully supports this charity, and does so publicly, then his name should not be linked to the advertising for the donations or the donation itself.

I fully support fandom making incredible donations to different charities. But I do not support making donations to questionable charities on an actor/actress's behalf without their official approval.
Fuck man, some people just royally piss me off.
Edit: I emailed this to the site owners:
It was brought to my attention by a LiveJournal member that your site is raising donations for YoungLife on behalf of Jensen Ackles.
Did you contact Jensen's management team to find out if he supports YoungLife? If you are going to have a charitiable donation drive with Jensen's name associated then the charity should be one that Jensen officially supports. To do otherwise falsely leads people to believe that Jensen supports the charity and that he is okay with being associated with the charity. Again, I feel the need to ask whether you contacted Jensen's management company to find out if he supports YoungLife.
I do not plan on making any donations to your drive. I personally don't support YoungLife. And I don't approve of the method that you have chosen to get donations for their organizaiton.
And this is what I received in response from Heather:
Working on getting more information.
Stay tuned.
WTF? I shouldn't be surprised, considering the shitty responses they gave to MissyJack. But still it makes me want to hit them.
And this is what I received in response from Lindsay:
We hear you loud and clear and we're looking into it immediately! :) Stay tuned for further information today. We had no intention of offending anyone.
Regards,
Lindsay
This is a slightly better response. But it seems like it took a lot of pissed off people emailing them to actually get this response. Because the response given early on was nothing like this. Grrr.
